About us

Laramie Interfaith is a 501c3 nonprofit located in Laramie, Wyoming. For over thirty years, Interfaith has worked to provide essential services to the community through its food pantry and client services departments and related programs. Interfaith operates a food pantry, food rescue program, and serves as the Temporary Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP; known as USDA commodities)site for Albany County. Client services include financial assistance to prevent homelessness and ensure critical utilities are keep functioning, case management and self-sufficiency services, as well as a hub for federal homelessness programs. The organization plays host to nearly 100 active volunteers who collectively spend thousands of hours in support of the organization each year.

General Objective

The Laramie Interfaith VISTA member will work to alleviate homelessness and food insecurity in Albany County, Wyoming. This role focuses on increasing community awareness of Laramie Interfaith's services, such as the food pantry and housing assistance, and expanding the organization's volunteer and donor base to better serve individuals and families in need. feedinglaramievalley.org

Primary Job Responsibilities

  1. Enhance Community Outreach: Assess and analyze current communication strategies and materials; develop and implement effective educational content to promote Laramie Interfaith's services.​linkedin.com
  2. Develop Outreach Calendar: Create and implement an annual communications and outreach calendar to streamline and enhance engagement efforts.​
  3. Expand Volunteer Base: Evaluate current volunteer recruitment, training, and management strategies; update best practices to attract and retain volunteers.​
  4. Increase Donor Support: Research potential grants and donors; cultivate relationships with existing donors and community partners to secure funding and resources.​

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Education: High school diploma or GED required; some college education preferred.​my.americorps.gov
  2. Experience: Background in community outreach, communications, volunteer management, or related fields is advantageous.​
  3. Skills: Proficiency in basic computer applications and technology; strong writing and editing abilities; effective communication and teamwork skills.​
