Laramie, Wyo. – Laramie Interfaith has been awarded $2,500 from First Interstate Bank to support Interfaith’s holiday meal program, which provides Thanksgiving and Christmas meals to households in need in Albany County.

In 2022, Laramie Interfaith provided over 600 holiday meal kits to the community. Each kit includes all the ingredients needed for a household to cook their own holiday meal – a turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potato, green bean casserole, stuffing, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, corn, and cornbread.

Executive Director Joshua Watanabe said Laramie Interfaith has proudly run the holiday program for years. He said that for those who are struggling, a holiday meal is often out of reach.

“This program gives our neighbors the chance to enjoy the same type of tradition people nationwide do, with a roast turkey and sides,” Watanabe said. “Each year, the Laramie community comes together to support our families in need, and we could not be more thankful that First Interstate Bank is helping to provide these meals with us this year.”

Sign ups for the Thanksgiving meal program begin mid-September. The online sign-up form will be available on the Laramie Interfaith website, www.laramieinterfaith.org, and on our Facebook and Instagram accounts.

Community members may also visit the Laramie Interfaith food pantry to sign up. The pantry is located at 712 Canby St. and is open Monday- Friday, 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. Laramie Interfaith will distribute the meal kits in mid-November.

The deadline to sign up for a Thanksgiving meal kit is Friday, October 27.
